Greg Evans C.Eng., C.MarEng., MIMarE.S.T. Executive Director – Global Safety & Compliance Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands Greg joined the Cayman Islands Shipping Registry (CISR), forerunner to the Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands (MACI), in March 2003 as a Marine Surveyor and iscurrently based in the European Regional Office located in Southampton, U.K. A Marine Engineer and Surveyor Greg has been involved in the Maritime and related industries for over 35years. This includes periods ashore and at sea with Cunard and Stena Line, followed by positions held with Lloyd’s Register of Shipping in the U.K and overseas in the capacity of Marine Engineer and Passenger Ship Safety Specialist. In his current role as Executive Director, Global Safety & Compliance Greg is responsible for the daily operations of Safety and Compliance throughout MACI’s global network of representatives. This also includes oversight of the quality of the Cayman Islands fleet of ships and yachts; and the implementation of National and International Legislation & Regulations. Greg was also instrumental in the development of the Red Ensign Group Passenger Yacht Code which was spearheaded by the Cayman Islands, which has become the build standard for ultra-large superyachts carrying up to 36 guests.
